ADC Chicago dedicates a special award for Chicago journalist in their annual Media Award dinner

The importance of media in the United States and the world is significant to the type of role journalist perform. Their views and conception not only shape the news but effects people’s life and destiny.
ADC has works hard to keep Arab American topics to be best handled in the fair professional conception regardless of Politics and interests. A job was difficult to most main stream media nowadays.
But for those who are constantly dealing with those challenges and maintaining a level of honesty and brave reporting in the Arab American issues and news ADC Chicago has acknowledged them in this year’s Annual dinner and Media Award.” All five recipients of this year’s American Arab Anti-Discrimination Award have earned the respect not only of our community but the entire Chicago land
Region for their fair, balanced and sensitive coverage,” said Fadi Zanayed, ADC
Chicago President. This year Fadi is planning to take the organization forward with innovation ideas and programs.
“The presentation of these awards is a tradition driven not by political
considerations but rather a respect for the challenges that journalists must
overcome in today’s world to provide accurate, fair, balanced and sensitive
news reporting and coverage,” said Shafic Budron, ADC Chicago Vice President
and National Board member. Shafic has spoken about the role of polics in motivating the mainstream media.
“All of the recipients have demonstrated the highest in professional journalism
over the years and are role models for all who pursue the journalism
professional as a career,” said Ray Hanania, a longtime Chicago journalist and
radio talk show host and chairman of the Media Awards Event.
This year’s excellence in Journalism awardees were
Mr. Jay Levine senior reporter for WBBM (CBS) TV Chicago
Mr. Burt Constable, columnist for the Arlington Heights Daily Herald
Newspaper
Mr. Mansour Tadros, publisher of al-Mustaqbal American Arab Newspaper
Ms. Amani Ghouleh, publisher of al-Offok al-Arabi American Arab Newspaper
The event was held at the Drury Lane Oak Brook Terrace on May 12
th
09 with Middle Eastern music performance by Amjad Hamdan, Oud & Nidal Ibourk, Singer
